Update 07/07/2023 1:45am:

The most highly touted NBA prospect since LeBron James is already at the center of controversy following the alleged incident between his security and former pop star Britney Spears. Victor Wembanyama showed off his media training as he addressed reporters about the situation in which he claims to have been "grabbed" by Spears before the slapping incident.

"I didn't see what happened, because I was walking straight and we were told, 'Don't stop,'" Wembanyama said. "But that person grabbed me from behind -- not on my shoulder, she grabbed me from behind -- and so I just know the security pushed her away."

"I don't know with how much force, though. But security pushed her away. I didn't stop to look so I could walk in and enjoy the nice dinner."

He said it wasn't until hours later that he learned the woman was Britney Spears. "At first I was like, 'No, you're joking,'" he said. "But, yeah, it turns out it was Britney Spears."

According to TMZ, Britney Spears has filed a police report after she was allegedly slapped by a security guard for NBA star Victor Wembanyama.

The incident went down when Britney, her husband, Sam Asghari, and 2 others went to Catch restaurant in the ARIA Hotel in Las Vegas. Britney reportedly spotted Wembanyama and approached him for a photo, tapping him on the shoulder and back to get his attention.

After touching Wembanyama, the Director of Team Security for the San Antonio Spurs, backhanded Britney so hard she fell to the ground. The hit led to Britney's glasses falling off, but she got up and made her way to her table at the restaurant.

TMZ reports that Britney and Victor's security team members had a conversation after the incident, which led to the police report being filed for battery.
