Edenilson Velasquez Larin, a national leader for the criminal organization known as MS-13 (Mara Salvatruca), has been arrested for orchestrating numerous murders, money laundering, and cocaine/marijuana trafficking in New York City. Nicknamed "The Aggresor," Velasquez Larin was picked up by state troopers during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike in Sandusky, Ohio. According to the U.S. Border Patrol, a warrant had already been issued for his arrest.
Velasquez Larin was riding the passenger seat of a rented car headed for Long Island. Body-cam footage of the arrest (from late June) was recently released. He faces ten charges, including racketeering conspiracy, assault in aid of racketeering, narcotics distribution conspiracy, murder in aid of racketeering, money laundering conspiracy, causing death through the use of firearms, continuing criminal enterprise, conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering, and more. The national leader of over 10,000 MS-13 members is currently being held at Lucas County Jail in Toledo, Ohio, under maximum security.
