Stephen A. Smith broke down the recent layoffs at ESPN, which led to popular hosts like Jalen Rose and Max Kellerman being dismissed from the network.
On his podcast, Stephen A. explained how every business is all about the bottom line and added that the pandemic changed the industry's landscape. He also stated that there's "more to come," and Smith went on to speak about specific colleagues that he is going to miss, including Jalen Rose.
"To see Jalen Rose gone, my brother. I have got a lot of love for that brother, a lot of the great work he has done over the years, and what he has represented for the company. He is a brilliant basketball mind and somebody that worked his a** off all the time."
Smith also addressed Max Kellerman, stating that although he didn't want to work with him on "First Take," he didn't want him to be unemployed. Smith added that he would go to bat for Kellerman in any future jobs. You can hear more, including Smith saying that he "might be next," hit the above clip.
