On Thursday, a 57-year-old Taiwanese woman ascended upon the Don Mueang International Airport at Bangkok in preparation for her flight to the southern Nakhon Si Thammarat province. Unfortlualtey, the routine process of traveling through the airport's 'Terminal A' ended in a shockingly horrific manner when the passenger's leg got trapped under the belt of the moveable walkway. Shortly after the airport's medical team arrived, the passenger was informed that they would have to remove part of her leg, from above the knee in order to free her. In response to the incident and amputation, the director at the Don Mueang Airport stated the following.

“On behalf of the Don Mueang International Airport, I’d like to express my deepest condolences regarding the accident,” said Karun Thanakuljeerapat. “I’d like to insist that we will ensure that no such accident will happen again.”

Eventually, when the passenger was freed, she immediately inquired about the possibility of having her leg re-attached. But her attempt was to no avail. The airport has indicated that they will handle all costs of the injury.
