Chris Printup, aka Spanto, the co-founder of the popular design company Born x Raised, has passed away, which a source close to Printup confirmed with Complex. Details of his death have yet to be confirmed.
Spanto and Alex "2Tone" Erdmann created the brand in 2013, and it took off in a big way, with a large celebrity following. Born x Raised also had collaborations with brands like New Era, Converse, and Babylon and partnerships with the Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, Rams, and LAFC.
Following the news of his death, tributes started to pour in from notable people, including celebrity jeweler Ben Baller, who wrote on Twitter, "RIP TO THE HOMIE SPANTO!" Bun B also shared a post that read, "Damn. Thought it was true. Then wasn’t. Now I know for sure. We lost a real one. Long Live Spanto. @bornxraised for life. Rest easy homie."
