The news of 32-year-old former Olympic gold medalist Tori Bowie's death came as a shock to many, as details weren't immediately available. However, TMZ has revealed that Bowie died while giving birth at home. 

Bowie was found dead in her home on May 2, and her family called the police to do a welfare check after not hearing from her for days. The coroner's report, obtained by TMZ, revealed that Bowie was eight months pregnant when she went into labor, and she died from complications of childbirth.

According to reports, former Team USA track gold medalist Tori Bowie was found dead at her home after going several days without communicating with loved ones. 

The Orange County Sheriff's Office in Florida told TMZ deputies executed a welfare check on Bowie after receiving calls from the track star's family. When authorities arrived, they found Bowie's body but no signs of foul play. 

The Orange County Medical Examiner's Office has yet to determine a cause of death and continues to investigate the matter.

"We've lost a client, dear friend, daughter and sister," said Bowie's management team. "Tori was a champion … a beacon of light that shined so bright! We're truly heartbroken and our prayers are with the family and friends."

Tori Bowie was 32.
