YFN Lucci was allegedly offered a 20-year plea deal, with the deal requiring that he serve 17 years in prison. Now, it has been reported that the artist has passed on the alleged deal, opting to take his chance at clearing his name to trial.

YFN Lucci’s lawyers, Gabe Banks and Drew Findling, called the offer “absurd,” saying their client is passing on the plea offer. While speaking to TMZ, the attorneys noted Lucci has been behind bars for two and a half years and that D.A. Willis’ attention is on “newer, high-profile cases that have completely monopolized the court’s resources.” The lawyers also said Willis has an “utter inability to prosecute complex cases.” The pair concluded by saying, “Despite the obstacles consistently placed in the way of Mr. Bennett’s constitutional right to a speedy and fair trial, we continue to be ready and prepared to defend these false allegations.”

The 20-year plea deal was offered by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. In exchange for accepting the agreement, Lucci would plead guilty to numerous charges, including racketeering and felony murder.

Previously, the artist was accused of being a driver in a gang-related shooting, which he has vehemently denied. Stay tuned for more updates.
