According to reports, a high-speed chase in Jennings County, Indiana ended just minutes after it began when the driver crashed into a light post. What's more, deputies discovered drugs, namely marijuana and meth, inside the vehicle.

"At any point, he could have given up and said, 'I'm caught' and he knew that night he was going to be caught. We were not going to let him get away," said Sgt. Cody Low. The chase culminated in the arrest of Christopher Kurdys, whose business partner Marc Rossignol was arrested at his home earlier that day, after the two men had been monitored by the department for the better part of a year.

Chief Deputy Jeffrey Jones with the Jennings County Sheriff's Office said that Kurdys and Rossignol are both "major players" in the local drug game. "I think there was a relief, a sigh of relief. It was a lengthy narcotics investigation and a lot of man-hours went into it by a lot of determined officers here," Jones said.

Deputies found roughly $5,000 in cash and hundreds of dollars worth of meth and marijuana. Low also noted that Kurdys discarded hundreds of dollars worth of drugs from the truck just before the crash. In addition, authorities discovered $13,000 in cash at Rossignol's residence as well as more meth.

Rossignol is facing multiple drug-related charges and remains behind bars in Jennings County. Kurdys faces the same penalties in addition to charges related to the chase, once he's released from the hospital.
