The identity of the four victims on the private plane that crashed in Virginia on Sunday (June 4) after flying over restricted airspace in Washington, D.C. and prompting a response from the U.S. military has been revealed.

The plane was registered to Encore Motors of Melbourne, a company owned by John and Barbara Rumpel, who were not on board the plane when it crashed. However, John Rumpel released a statement to the New York Times, revealing that his daughter, 2-year-old granddaughter, her nanny, and the pilot were on the flight.

Military fighter jets followed the Cessna V Citation plane until it left restricted airspace of Washington, and a U.S. official told CBS News that the F-16s fighter jets did not shoot the plane down. It's still unknown why the plane was unresponsive.
