In a bizarre story coming out of Florida, a man was arrested for attempted murder after stabbing his roommate in the neck while dressed in a cat costume.
Authorities were called to the Gainesville, FL area home on Tuesday after the victim called police alerting them of the stabbing. When police arrived, they found the victim bleeding profusely from the neck.
Bodycam footage shows the victim being removed from the home and transported to a local hospital while the suspect remained inside another room in the house. When the suspect, 32-year-old Omar Gutierrez, emerged from the bedroom, he was donning a full cat costume and came out with his hands up.
"We exchanged Gutierrez's cat costume for a green and white striped jumpsuit," Capt. Chris Sims said.Gutierrez was charged with a single count of attempted murder and was being held at the Alachua County jail on a $1 million bond.
