Ayesha Curry doesn't look back on her "Red Table Talk" appearance fondly, which she explained while speaking to Insider.
During the 2019 episode, Ayesha opened up to Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Adrienne "Gammy" Banfield-Norris about how she handles the attention her husband, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, gets from female fans.
Ayesha explained, "Stephen is very nice by nature and he’s very talkative. Everything is always very friendly and sometimes to the point where I’m like, I’m a grown woman so I’ll just insert myself. I’ll be like, 'Hello. How are you doing?' The ladies will always be lurking, hoping for their moment and waiting. But for me, I honestly hate it."
Curry then stated, "I have zero — this sounds weird— but, like, male attention. So then I begin to internalize it and I’m like, ‘Is something wrong with me?' I don’t want (the attention), but it would be nice to know that someone’s looking.'"
Curry's comments sparked a conversation online at the time, with many questioning why she wanted attention outside of her marriage. In her recent Insider interview, Curry stated that her comments were "edited in a way that made me sound crazy." She added, "It’s not what I said, and the context was weird. Yeah. I took that one personally."
