Recently, JJ Redick dissed Stephen A. Smith’s college basketball career while on ‘First Take.’

Smith spoke about LeBron James’ aging in the league while speaking about the possibility of James making an exit from the Lakers. Redick seemingly called out Smith’s athleticism and career as an athlete, saying, “You didn’t play Stephen A. You don’t understand our athletic mortality.” He then said, “3 games at, wherever, South Dakota, Winston-Salem State doesn’t count.”

Smith replied by saying, “I got a degree and now I’m on TV with you, I must be doing something right.” Directly after the comments were made, Redick issued a formal apology on-air to Smith, saying the comments from Smith got “underneath his skin.” Watch above at the 3:15 mark.
