Earlier this year, it was noted that G Herbo was fighting a $1.5 million fraud case, with his legal team pushing for a plea deal. Now, Herbo changed his lane into a more positive matter, as he reportedly launched a non-profit organization dedicated to creating safe spaces for Black people to discuss mental health topics.
The rapper gave more insight while speaking to Billboard about ‘Swervin’ Thru Stress, saying, “Our community doesn’t talk about mental health enough. With Swervin’ Through Stress, I really wanted to create a space where it’s OK for us to talk about what we’re going through.” He continued, "A lot of us can relate to each other’s struggles.”
According to Herbo and Billboard, the organization will host a Black Joy Ride event in Chicago beginning May 20. The event will reportedly include wellness brand pop-ups and yoga. Swervin Through Stress will also partner with Free Root Operations Bloom Program to help women suffering from the effects of gun violence.
