Authorities in Louisiana arrested a 58-year-old man who shot a 14-year-old girl in the head as she played hide-and-seek with friends.
According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana, David Doyle told detectives he “observed people running away from his property” prompting him to grab his gun when he “began shooting at them.” The teen girl was struck and “suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of her head.”
Doyle has since been charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and illegal discharge of a firearm. Thankfully, the 14-year-old girl's injuries were non-life threatening.
However, the swiftness with which Doyle shot at the teen and her friends is a sign of a larger issue around guns as this story harkens back to the recent incident where another older white man shot a black teen who knocked on the wrong door while on his way to pick up his sibling.
