Mixtape platform Spinrilla is now gearing up to shut down after they signed a confidential settlement with various music companies backed by the RIAA.

A judgment submitted by the platform finds them being required to pay $50 million in damages for piracy. Along with that, Spinrilla will have to shut down its platform.

According to TorrentFreak, Spinrilla has committed to the $50 million along with the fees owed to the labels. The company reportedly faced a possible $600 million suit at one point, as it was concluded that 4,082 copyrighted recordings were streamed at least once on the platform.

A judgment was proposed and signed by a clerk in Georgia this past week, with the judgment saying, “Judgment shall be entered in favor of Plaintiffs and against Defendants jointly and severally in the amount of $50,000,000, inclusive of any recoverable costs and attorneys’ fees.” The judgment prohibits Spinrilla founder Dylan Copeland from being able to offer the company as a service. Along with that, Copeland and Spinrilla were ordered to shut down the app and website within five days.

The judgment noted Spinrilla’s domain would be given to the music labels, saying, “Defendants shall transfer the domain name https://spinrilla.com to the Plaintiffs in accordance with the terms of the confidential Settlement Agreement and Release among the parties.”
