The Los Angeles Lakers came into the 2022-23 campaign with a roster that featured the likes of Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley in addition to LeBron and AD. However, the fit was never ideal and the internal struggles became more apparent by how disjointed the team looked on the floor leading to a below .500 regular season record by the All-Star break.

Fast forward to the trade deadline in February, and the Lakers shook up the roster by shipping out both Beverley and Westbrook. However, Pat Bev claims Westbrook expressed to him his desire to receive a championship ring from the Lakers if they win this season.

“Russell goes, ‘Hey Pat if the Lakers win, I want my ring,’” said Beverley. “I ain’t going to lie, Russ. We're going to be suited and booted, and I’ll be right there waiting for my ring. … I’m gonna get that ring. I was on the team longer than anything… I guess obviously there’s a ring ceremony, so I guess whenever I play the Lakers they’ll give me mine. I might shed a tear, give a speech.”
