Boosie took to Instagram to celebrate remaining cancer free after his yearly check-up. On Tuesday (May 2), Boosie shared a post that read, "Stayed up all night praying for these results #CANCERFREE GOD GREAT BUT HE TEST YOUR FAITH ALL THE TIME ‼️I" 

Boosie then added that he also learned that his doctor, who was with him throughout his battle with cancer, had passed away. He wrote, "WAS READY TO SEE MY CANCER DOCTOR/SURGEON TODAY BUT I WAS TOLD HE PASSED LAST YEAR 🥲

"THANK U DR.WOOD FOR ALWAYS MAKING ME LAUGH WHEN I WAS DOWN U WERE THE BEST.I REMEMBER U RUBBIN MY HEAD WHEN I WAS CRYIN BEFORE SURGERY N YOU ASK ME WHY I WAS CRYING N I TOLD U I WAS THINKING ABOUT ALL THE WRONG IVE DONE N MY LIFE N YOU SAID MR BOOSIE GOD FORGIVES N DONT WORRY IVE DONE MORE SURGERIES THAN YOUVE DONE CONCERTS ‼️🙏🏾🙏🏾 #Dr.WOOD I’m hurt 😔" 

Boosie revealed his kidney cancer diagnosis back in 2015, and he even made a song about his journey in the track "Cancer" off of his "In My Feelings. (Goin' Thru It)" mixtape in 2016. In the song, Boosie starts off rapping, "Coldest words I ever heard was 'Torrence Hatch, I'm sorry. You got cancer'/Damn, Just beat death penalty, now I got cancer?" Months later, Boosie would drop "Out My Feelings (In My Past)" to show that he was back and better than ever.
