According to TMZ, Suge Knight and his brother, Brian Brown, are gearing up to film a biopic series about the embattled former Death Row CEO's rise and fall.
The series will reportedly start filming this summer, and it will be shot similarly to the hit Starz show "BMF," as it will show Suge's younger years and how he got into the music industry. Sources with direct knowledge of the project told TMZ that Suge has been very involved with selecting the actors and directors. When it comes to 2Pac, Suge is reportedly looking for an actor who can capture his full likeness, from his looks to his style.
Suge is serving a 28-year sentence for the 2015 killing of Terry Carter, and in 2021, Knight struck a deal with producer Steve Whitney and TSW films to sign over his life rights. He spoke about the deal with Deadline, stating, "Over the last 30 years, there has been so much talk about Compton, me, the inner cities, and Death Row—A lot of talk. Even when it comes to making my movie there has been so many imposters saying they have my rights, or they got the deal—that was, and is, all talk."
He added, "I jumped off the porch in my neighborhood at a young age but never forgot where I came from. Most people try to ride for the hills, I made it and tried to bring as many people to the hills with me and feel that I was successful at it."
