Twenty years ago, on March 26th, 2003, a young phenom from St. Vincent–St. Mary High School named LeBron James took a memorable step toward what would become an all-time great legacy when he won the McDonlald's Slam Dunk Contest. The high flying 6'8 point guard dazzled spectators at Gund Arena in Cleveland, a place that would become his future kingdom as an NBA player with the Cavaliers.

On Monday night, LeBron's oldest son, Bronny, participated in the McDonald's Slam Dunk Contest (Powerade Jamfest) in Houston, Texas. The prospect from Sierra Canyon High School currently ranks as the 9th best player of the incoming class of 2023, and much like his father two decades ago, this young point guard did not disappoint as the pressure of the moment mounted on national TV. Although the four-star recruit finished second in the dunk contest behind 6'8 Duke commit Sean Stewart, the highlight of the evening came when Bronny walked his younger brother, Bryce, out onto the basketball court and placed him near the hoop before leaping over him and throwing down a one-handed dunk.

Bronny has not announced his intentions for college basketball next season, but all indications suggest that his shortlist of suitors includes USC, Oregon, and Ohio State.
