According to reports, a Mississippi news anchor named Barbie Bassett was let go from her job after quoting Snoop Dogg during a broadcast, saying, “Fo Shizzle My Nizzle.”
NBC affiliate WLBT reportedly removed Bassett’s name from their website as a news team member, and a statement was issued via WLBT’s regional vice president, Ted Fortenberry. The manager said, “As I am sure you can understand, WLBT is unable to comment on personnel matters.”
Bassett and other anchors were on-air discussing Snoop Dogg’s wine brand when an idea about Snoop collaborating with anchors in the room was mentioned. Bassett then could be heard saying, “Fo shizzle my nizzle” in response. For those unaware, “Nizzle” is slang for the n-word. Watch above.
