According to reports and video footage that surfaced, a chocolate factory in Pennsylvania was seen exploding, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuring eight other people.
Footage surfaced via Fox 29 Philadelphia showing the R.M. Palmer Co. factory exploding while cars rolled on in the background on the highway. The deaths in the massive explosion were confirmed by West Reading Borough Police Chief Wayne Holben. Eight victims were taken to a local hospital, and five of the people were released after being treated.
A spokesperson from UGI Utilities issued a statement on the blast, saying, “We did not receive any calls regarding a gas leak or gas order prior to the incident, but we are cooperating with the investigation, and part of that will be to check all our facilities in the vicinity.”
