Jermaine Dupri and Curren$y have been doing interviews to speak about their upcoming collaboration album, along with their first single from the project, "Essence Fest.” The two made an appearance on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ where they talked about the album, their careers separately, and what brought them together for the project. At one point, Dupri was asked about his label, specifically about a comment Yung Joc made about the difference between him and Diddy, saying Diddy took him more seriously as an artist.

Dupri said “He’s right. I’m all about making new artists. I’m all about putting new artists.” From there, he noted he’s a producer first and foremost, then noted Joc was signed to So So Def for one day before switching to Bad Boy.

Dupri said producer Nitti was signed to him, so he wasn’t worried about sealing the deal with Joc coming to his label. Dupri said he went to sleep, then woke up the following day and found out Joc went to Bad Boy instead. Curren$y chimed in and said, “You should have stayed up.” Watch above.
