The basketball world lost a legend on Tuesday when New York Knicks icon Willis Reed passed away at the age of 80. Reed, a two-time champion and Finals MVP in 1970 and 1973, brought the Knicks their only two world championships in franchise history.

Over the course of his 10-year career, Reed received seven All-Star selections, the Rookie of the Year award and was named league MVP in 1969-70. He's also responsible for one of the most memorable moments in NBA history when he trotted out on the floor while hampered with a thigh injury to play Game 7 of the 1970 NBA finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.
