Michael B. Jordan has seen much success in his career, from his role on the legendary HBO series ‘The Wire,’ to directing ‘Creed III’ featuring Jonathan Majors. While his success is seen everywhere, via TV and movies, Jordan sat down and spoke about more challenging times at the beginning of his career as a young adult, noting he almost hopped into getting a fast food job at one point.

While speaking to Tank on the ‘R&B Money’ podcast, the actor was asked about life during his time as an actor on ‘The Wire.’ Jordan expressed that he was super broke while on the show and had no money in his bank account despite people recognizing him on the street. “I was like still booking jobs, but still dead broke.” said the actor. He then noted people would be like, “Yo, that’s such and such from ‘The Wire!’”

Jordan said, “I’m like yeah but me and Sterling applying to Jack in the Box. You know what I mean? And these n***as gonna know who I am. So it’s not like oh it’s just a random person. I was willing to take the L.” Take a look above.
