Previously, it was reported that a judge in the shooting trial of rapper Hurricane Chris allowed a forensics expert to testify, with the rapper’s lawyer saying, “Hurricane Chris’ actions were in self-defense and justified. Today, the court ruled to allow our Forensic analysis expert to testify at trial.” Since then, a lawyer for the rapper has compared the shooting victim to Deebo from ‘Friday.’

According to KSLA, opening statements from Chris’ lawyer “described the deceased as “Debo” a popular character from the movie Friday, while showing a picture of the character.” From there, a reporter from KSLA gave an update on what happened during the trial following the comparison. “Three 911 calls were played for jurors today. One witness in the calls says the deceased Danzeria Farris Jr. took his last breath at the Texaco on Hollywood Avenue. While listening to the calls from witnesses to 911 a woman left the courtroom in tears.,” said Alexandra Savage of KSLA.

Currently, Hurricane Chris is facing charges of second-degree murder and illegal possession of stolen items. The rapper has claimed self-defense and pleaded not guilty to all charges. Stay tuned for more updates.
