Previously, it was reported that disgraced South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh was convicted for the murder of his wife and youngest son. The 54-year-old was found guilty of two counts of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Murdaugh was asked by Judge Clifton Newton if he had anything to say before being sentenced, with Murdaugh saying, “As I tell you again, I respect this court. But I am innocent. I would never under any circumstances hurt my wife Maggie, and I would never under any circumstances hurt my son Paul-Paul.”

The jury reportedly deliberated for under three hours before finding Murdaugh guilty. The former lawyer was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Stay tuned for more updates.
