Rihanna went viral during her highly-anticipated Super Bowl halftime performance on Sunday (February 12), where she revealed that she is pregnant with her second child.
Following Rihanna's performance, social media users were already discussing who they would like to see during next year's performance. Usher was one of the names that came up, along with Beyoncé, who last performed in 2013.
Chris Brown was another name circulating, but the "Under the Influence" singer made it clear that he wouldn't be performing at the Super Bowl anytime soon, if ever. He responded to a fan telling him that they wanted him at next year's halftime show, and Chris wrote, "Never shawty..American media AINT FA me. Rather be where I'm welcomed."
This comes after Chris' performance at the 2022 American Music Awards was canceled at the last minute. Chris was set to pay tribute to Michael Jackson at the awards show, but his performance was canceled at the last minute. Chris didn't show up to the awards show, where he won Favorite Male R&B Artist. The award was accepted by Kelly Rowland, who was booed by audience members.
Kelly told the crowd, "Excuse me … chill out. I want to tell Chris thank you so much for making great R&B music. And I want to tell him thank you for being an incredible performer." Kelly later told TMZ that people need to be forgiven for their past wrongdoings, which many believed was about Chris' infamous incident with Rihanna in 2009.
Kelly stated, "We all need to be forgiven for anything that we could be doing, anything that we’re thinking. We all come up short in some sort of way, and grace is real. And we are humans. Everybody deserves grace, period."
