As different camera angles showed Rihanna's rounded stomach through her jumpsuit, social media lit up with people questioning if Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, who are parents to their 9-month-old son, had another baby on the way.
After opening the show with "B*tch Better Have My Money," Rihanna performed some of her other well-known hits, including "We Found Love," "Where Have You Been," "Diamonds," and "Work." Following the viral performance, Rihanna's rep confirmed that she is pregnant with her second child.
In an interview before the performance, Rihanna spoke about how motherhood inspired her to agree to doing the show. She told The Hollywood Reporter, "I was like, ‘You sure? I’m three months postpartum. Should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this."
Rihanna added, "When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything. And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was…there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all. It’s important for my son to see that."
