Broward County Judge Michael Usan ordered Drake to sit for a deposition in XXXTentacion's murder case on February 24, according to Rolling Stone. The deposition will be done via Zoom after Judge Usan granted defense attorney Mauricio Padilla's petition for an "order to show cause."

This comes after Padilla, who is representing Dedrick Williams, one of the three suspects on trial for X's murder, stated that Drake was never investigated for X's murder. In his opening argument in the trial, Padilla referred to an Instagram post that X made before his death, which X later recanted, claiming he was hacked.

Padilla stated, "Before X died, he said, ‘If anybody kills me, it’s Drake.’ Do you think sitting here years later, any detective has ever asked Drake or anybody like that? No. This is one of the biggest celebrities in the world. Excluding an order from this court, we all know that I will never be able to take his deposition."

Padilla also referenced a quote from XXXTentacion's mother's deposition, where she stated that she asked X's step-uncle to go to the motorcycle shop with him the day he was murdered 'because of the ongoing battle with Drake and Migos."

The motion for the deposition reads, "If deponent Aubrey Drake Graham does not appear to deposition he must appear before this court on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023 at 10 a.m. EST at so [sic] the court can determine why he should not be held in contempt."
