Funk Flex was recently named the creative program director of Hot 97, and now the new PD hopped on Instagram to issue an apology to RZA and Wu-Tang Clan for a reported issue both parties had with each other for years.
Via Instagram, Flex posted a photo of himself and RZA sitting next to each other and said, “I WANNA TAKE THIS TIME TO APOLOGIZE TO THE @RZA AND THE ENTIRE @WUTANGCLAN !!! ALMOST 25YRS AGO THE GROUP, ME AND HOT97 HAD A DISAGREEMENT THAT TO ME NEVER GOT PUT TO BED AND I APOLOGIZE!”
Flex gave more insight into the past issues, saying, “LOOKING BACK AT THIS 20 SUMTHIN YEARS LATER.. WE GONNA MAKE UP FOR THE TIME WE MISSED… THE WORLDS GREATEST RAP GROUP AND THE WORLDS GREATEST RADIO STATIONS ARE GOING TO COME TOGETHER BRING U SOMETHING AMAZING!”
The group previously revealed issues with Hot 97 stemmed from a Summer Jam that the radio station tried to get them to play through an ultimatum. The station allegedly threatened not to play any more of the group’s music unless they showed up to perform at the concert for free. Take a look above.
