Update 02/01/2023 5:59am:

According to reports, the domestic violence charges against former NBA star Amar'e Stoudemire have been dropped. Prosecutors say the victim in the case (his teen daughter) refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Stoudemire vehemently denied the allegations when news broke in December. He recently spoke with TMZ following news of the charges being dismissed and said, "A little over a month ago, my family’s world was turned upside down as I faced allegations that we all knew to be untrue – which I instantly and publicly denied."

He continued, "Today, I’m grateful that after a full investigation, all charges were dismissed. Fortunately, my family and most importantly, my incredible children are all doing well. My faith in the goodness we all possess has never wavered and has never been greater. My love for my family is without limits."

"I am appreciative of all the respect and support received from family, friends and colleagues. Now that this chapter is closed, I look forward to all the great moments ahead with my family," Stoudemire concluded.

Update 12/19/2022 11:06am:

Former NBA star Amar'e Stoudemire released a statement following his recent arrest on one count of misdemeanor battery in Miami, as he was accused of hitting his teenage daughter.

Stoudemire's statement reads, "Over the last 24 hours, an incident at my family home led to my being charged with assaulting my daughter. It is an allegation based on a report that does not square with the facts. I am of the Jewish faith, today Jewish people all over the world celebrate Hanukkah and hear the story of how we fought wickedness. I believe that 'whatever is hateful to you, do not do to others.'"

Stoudemire added, "As the investigation unfolds, the facts will show the allegations to be groundless as my daughter’s medical condition is not the result of being assaulted by a father who is nearly 7 feet tall and weighs 250 pounds. I could never see myself assaulting any person, especially my children. I respect, protect, and love my family, particularly my children. As a father, I ask for your grace as we secure our space and privacy."

Original 12/18/2022 4:02pm:

Amar’e Stoudemire was recently arrested after he allegedly beat his teenage daughter.

Stoudemire was booked on Sunday morning for one count of domestic violence and a battery charge. Stoudemire allegedly hit one of his teen daughters across the face, with the teen describing one hit as a slap while the other was a punch. According to the arrest report, the daughter was bloody as a result, and she says Stoudemire kept striking her body after hitting her in the face.

The incident allegedly started after the teenager responded with “attitude” to Stoudemire’s mother after she called for the teen at his house. As a result, Stoudemire allegedly attempted to give her a “whooping.” From there, the teenager called her mother and sent photos to show the injuries, which caused the mother to call 911.

Since the news broke, Stoudemire was released from custody. Stay tuned for more updates.
