Body camera footage from police recently showed Paul Pelosi being attacked by a man wielding a hammer.
The footage surfaced this Friday and showed police walking up to the home of Nancy and Paul Pelosi in October 2022. When Paul opens the door, he and the man with a hammer, which they both are holding, can be seen at the entrance. When police asked what was going on, the man yanked the hammer away from Pelosi and began to attack. As a result, the police swiftly hopped on the man to get him away from Pelosi.
Footage showed Pelosi being completely out from the incident after he was struck. The suspect—42-year-old David DePape, was charged with attempted murder, residential burglary, elder abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, and threats to a public official. DePape is facing 13 years to life in prison if convicted.
