Rich Dollaz has made his first public statement since the arrest of his daughter, Ashley Trowers, after she allegedly shot at her ex-boyfriend and his friend at a Kroger gas station where she works security. 

Speaking with The Shade Room, Rich Dollaz opened up about the domestic abuse claims stemming from Ashley's previous relationship and was taken aback by the fact that her ex-boyfriend found out where she was working since the security position was a brand new job. 

“I’m baffled as anyone else,” he said. “My daughter is a 20-something-year-old with a newborn baby that lived with her man, and she’s a grown adult. I found out Ashley worked at Kroger at the same time everyone else did.” He noted that Ashley is an aspiring rapper and used the part-time security job to fund her career. “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with my daughter wanting to do it on her own.”

Rich noted that his daughter “had to do what she had to do for her sanity and safety.”

“I don’t condone shooting, I don’t condone violence, I don’t condone any of that,” he said emphatically. “But at the end of the day, I’m never going to be okay with a man putting his hand on my kid either.”

Rich Dollaz's daughter Ashley Trowers has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following an incident where she opened fire at her ex-boyfriend. 

Authorities say Trowers was on the first day at her new job as security at a Kroger gas station when her ex-boyfriend and father of her child Demiah Tatum, and another man approached her vehicle. 

Trowers said she attempted to flee but was unable to and fired two shots at the car carrying Tatum and the other man. She subsequently alerted police of the encounter and disclosed that she had a restraining order out on him. Trowers told police that she feared the other man, later identified as Mykel Yates, was reaching for a gun when they approached her car. Yates later told police that Tatum was only intending to give her some money. 

Police booked Trowers at the Shelby County Jail before she was released on her own recognizance.
