According to reports, former NFL player Jerrell Powe and another man have been arrested on kidnapping charges in Mississippi.

Powe, 35, was booked on Monday after finding him and a man alleged to be an accomplice, Gavin Bates, 35 after authorities received a call from the victim claiming he was held “against his will” and was “forced to withdraw money” at the bank.

Madison County Police Chief Brian Myers said the incident is currently under investigation but noted that the victim is safe.

Powe played his collegiate career at the University of Mississippi starting in 2008 before being drafted by Kansas City Chiefs in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He also had stints in Houston and Washington before retiring in 2017.
