Three days ago, James McCorker (20), Remy Walker (21), and their underaged associate entered a gas station store located at the 100 block of East 75th Street on the Southside of Chicago. Moments later, a few officers from the Chicago Police Department followed suit. After a brief exchange of words with the police, McCorker and Walker motioned back toward the opposite side of the store before they allegedly hid a couple of items in the chip aisle. This on-camera incident occurred around 1:30 am.

After reviewing the surveillance footage, the CPD searched the chip aisle and discovered a loaded 9-millimeter handgun complete with an extended magazine, a loaded 40-caliber handgun with an extended magazine, and a third handgun that was fully loaded. Two of the weapons were stolen. The video evidence helped the officers conclude that McCorker was in possession of the stolen gun with an auto-fire switch, while Walker was responsible for hiding the 40-caliber gun.

McCorker and Walker have since been arrested and are currently held without bail, per the orders of Judge Barba Dawkins. The CPD claims that they followed the group of young men into the aforementioned gas station because the vehicle they arrived in was reportedly stolen. However, the defense attorneys for McCorker and Walker have refuted that notion, claiming that the cops had no right to pursue their clients in the first place. They also contended that the video footage does not depict who hid the guns they discovered.
