Westside Gunn makes it a point to stay out of the media unless the rapper makes an announcement, and now the Buffalo artist has made a major revelation about his career.
Via Twitter, Westside Gunn said he plans to retire after 2023, which will be the last year he raps. “23’ def my last year doing this s**t,” said the rapper. He continued saying, “I don’t have nothing else 2prove, I put my team on, I put my city on, I worked w/everybody I ever wanted to work with, plus MFs still don’t even understand 1-10, FLYGOD, Awesome GOD, or Pray for Paris(mind u Virgil did the cover) im the 🐐 🤷🏽♂️.”
From there, Gunn thanked everyone who gave him opportunities to build himself up in the music world, mentioning producers and artists he collaborated with over the years. The Buffalo artist then spoke about issues he’s faced since entering the music industry, making his retirement announcement real.
“I know I say Ima retire all the time so ppl might be like, he always say this. Seriously I been thru so much with this s**t behind closed doors y’all would never know, it’s brought more pain than joy I’m just so G that I make it look super easy but I fight these devils everyday,” Gunn said.
