R. Kelly's former manager has been sentenced to 1-year in prison for calling in a shooting threat at the premiere of the Lifetime documentary Surviving R. Kelly.
Donnell Russell will serve the sentence concurrently with another 20-month term he was handed for threatening Kelly's victims. During his sentencing, Russell told the judge he had “made bad judgments” while serving as Kelly's manager but insisted that he's “not a horrible person.”
Russell is set to turn himself in early next year as he begins to serve out both sentences concurrently.
