Previously, Fat Joe claimed he was responsible for putting on Trick Daddy and Pitbull, with both artists moving forward to have successful careers. However, Uncle Luke took to social media to refute the claim made by Joe, saying he was the one who had a hand in putting both rappers on first.
Now, Fat Joe and Uncle Luke have hopped on Instagram Live to discuss the confusion. Fat Joe went on to say he didn’t claim to discover either Trick Daddy or Pitbull but amplified their music to get them popping. Luke agreed to Joe’s clarification, but only after it was made clear that Luke is owed the credit for discovering the artists. Watch above.

Fat Joe previously made an appearance on Math Hoffa’s ‘My Expert Opinion’ podcast and claimed that he was responsible for putting on Trick Daddy, as well as Pitbull, with both artists going on to have successful careers in music and entertainment. However, Uncle Luke of the 2 Live Crew has responded to the claims by Joe on the podcast, saying he remembers those discoveries going a bit differently.
Campbell posted the clip of Joe speaking about discovering both rappers and started off his caption on the Instagram post by saying “I love Joe but I find this very interesting because i discovered @trickdaddydollars he did his first song with me as soon as he got off the lock up and by he stayed with me.”
Uncle Luke then cleared up the claims about Pitbull, saying, “I also discovered signed @pitbull to the platinum-selling Luke records label did his first songs with me. Because I’m from [Miami], I felt the importance of signing a Cuban rapper, so I discovered him off of battle rap tapes. Maybe I’m missing something here I do have the receipts.”
The rapper then said, “By the way because you don’t see me all in the videos at the [parties] @djkhaled I found him on underground radio mix 96 brought him to mainstream radio @99jamzmiami The Luke Show.” Watch above.
