In some states, throwing water on someone can be considered criminal assault, and it could even warrant jail time. In a video clip that recently went viral on social media, a female student can be seen throwing a clear substance from a water bottle into the face of a classmate during a heated dispute. In response, the male student went ballistic and threw a bevy of haymakers at the female's face before pummeling her to the ground until she was bleeding from the face. The reaction was far more devastating than the action that started the altercation. From a legal standpoint, self-defense is no longer applicable when the threat is over. That notion has prompted several users on Twitter to debate which student was at fault, what events led to the fight, and if either of them should face substantial punishment.

The video was posted yesterday, and it has already been viewed over 3 million times. Scroll up and take a look.
