Nia Long and suspended Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka officially broke after 13 years together. The split comes almost three months after the NBA coach was involved in a scandal in which he allegedly had an affair with a team employee.

"The situation is unfortunate and painful, but Nia is focusing on her children and rebuilding her life," a source confirmed to PEOPLE.

A rep for Nia Long also said that the 51-year-old actress and 45-year-old coach are "no longer together but remain fully committed to co-parenting their son [Kez]."

Before the start of the 2022-23 NBA season, the Boston Celtics revealed that they suspended Ime Udoka for an inappropriate relationship with a team subordinate. Udoka is alleged to have had an affair with a Celtics travel planner, who coordinated Nia Long's move to Boston.

Last week, Nia Long spoke out against the Celtics for their public reveal of the scandal and failing to check on her and her family following the alleged affair.

"I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son's face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public," Long told The Hollywood Reporter. "It was devastating, and it still is. He still has moments where it's not easy for him. If you're in the business of protecting women — I'm sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I'm OK, to see if my children are OK. It's very disappointing."

Nia Long and Ime Udoka met in 2010 before getting engaged in 2015. However, they were not officially married.

Ime Udoka remains suspended for the entire 2022-23 NBA season.
