Coach K, the co-founder of Quality Control Music, has had his hand in more than just music. Recently, it was revealed Coach K, along with Warner Records music executive Mel Carter acquired 32 Bojangles restaurants through their franchise development company Melanbo.

Coach K noted the company plans to open 14 new sites located around the Greater Atlanta area and spoke more about the move. “I’m proud to do this with Mel and to keep pushing forward Black entrepreneurship. We built our way up in music, and it’s exciting to branch out in so many ways and to join forces with the number one Black-owned franchise,” said the Quality Control co-founder. Carter spoke on the move, saying, “Immigrating from Trinidad and Tobago, it was always my dream to be an owner of a major restaurant franchise. Being the largest black owner of a QSR Franchise alongside Coach K at an establishment as great as Bojangles brings me great honor and I am deeply blessed.”

Along with opening the 14 new sites as described, Coach K and Mel Carter will acquire 18 existing Bojangles locations in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.
