The father of Anderson Lee Aldrich, the suspected Colorado Springs shooter, went on an anti-gay rant during his interview with local reporters about the alleged actions of his son.

According to Aldrich's father, he was more concerned with whether or not his son was gay when he learned Anderson shot up a gay bar. “I was scared. I was like ‘Oh my god, s–t, is he gay?’ And he’s not gay,” 48-year-old Aaron Brink said of his estranged son.

He continued, “I’m a Mormon, [...] I’m a conservative Republican and we don’t do gay.”

“I don’t what he’s accused of. I can’t get answers from the attorneys really, but they’re saying it’s involving a gay bar. I don’t know what the heck he did at a gay bar,” Brink added. When a reporter finally told him what his son was accused of doing, Brink said “OK, well s–t, he’s accused of doing that, I’m glad he’s not gay. I can say that, I’m glad he’s not gay."
