Iggy Azalea took to Twitter to address news of her selling her master recordings and publishing catalog in an 8-figure deal with Domain Capital. Billboard reported that the deal includes all of Iggy's shares in her current catalog, and the deal also includes a "trigger" for future earnings on her masters.

One of Iggy's followers reacted to the news, writing, "I guess she got a coin but wasn't she saying the label didn’t do right by her music? Only to sell her masters?" This led to Iggy responding, writing, "If you don’t understand the business part of the music business just say that lol."

When another follower questioned if Iggy's deal was similar to the controversy surrounding Taylor Swift's masters being sold, and Iggy responded and clarified that the deal was made on her terms.

She wrote, "Taylor did not profit from that sale. I sold a portion of my catalog to who I wanted, for an amount that means I don’t have to work another day in my life. I love y’all down but the masters conversation is a little beyond most of your understanding of business."
