According to reports, Chris Rock returned to the location where he was slapped publicly by Will Smith—The Dolby Theatre. While there, Rock joked about the return to the venue and how “painful” it was.
Rock started his set by joking about Dave Chappelle and the January 6th Capitol riot. From there, Rock got into being slapped by Smith during the Academy Awards. “People were like, ‘Did it hurt?’ You’re goddamn right it hurt. Will Smith is significantly bigger than me. I am not the same size, Ok? This motherf**ker played Ali! I played Pookie from ‘New Jack City!’” said Rock.
Chris Rock addressed why he didn’t fight back, saying, “People say, ‘Why the f**k did you do nothing back?’ Because I got parents,” Rock said. “Because I was raised, you know?
