Throughout his career, Lil Durk has seen much success. However, the rapper’s success has been shadowed by controversy and loss, mainly due to him dissing people who have passed away. Along with that, the rapper’s brother DThang was tragically killed at a nightclub only months after his friend King Von was gunned down. Now in a new interview, Durk revealed he is moving away from mentioning names of the dead in his music.

While speaking to Rolling Stone, the rapper spoke candidly and said “That’s why I’m not saying names no more [in my music].” The rapper continued saying “I ain’t speaking on the dead no more — none of that.”

Durk revealed his path is completely switching up, saying “I’m not chasing death no more. I’m chasing a billion dollars. I want our kids to grow up safe and sound, to be able to have fun, to have a real life.” The rapper spoke about the possibilities and struggles he may face from trying to change his path, saying “Even if you do 99 percent of s**t right, you still got 1 percent of the demons with you. You get angry fast and one reply can f**k up a billion dollars.”
