On Thursday, a group of LAPD officers showed up at the Westfield Topanga Mall to investigate a shooting in Canoga Park, California. Upon their arrival, the cops hopped out of their vehicles and approached the suspect, who quickly backed away as they approached. The arrest attempt was then disrupted, rather dramatically, when one of the officers on the scene forgot to put his cruiser in 'Park.' The on-camera incident detailed the chaotic turn of events when the cops noticed that a land cruiser was rolling backward uncontrollably without anyone inside. This prompted the cops to turn their attention to the cruiser as they tried to jump back into the moving car to prevent a disaster. The moment provided the quick-thinking suspect with an opportune time to run, and he did.
The cops eventually caught up with the suspect and apprehended him near a gas station. Scroll up to watch the video.
