Previously, Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown announced that he was making his exit from Donda Sports. Now, it appears Kanye West’s Donda Academy basketball team—the Donda Doves- is also facing issues. It was revealed that Morehouse College canceled a basketball tournament scheduled for November 6.
It was reported that the Donda Doves were going to face off against the Skill Factory, a local basketball team in Atlanta. However, Kanye West’s recent string of interviews that found the rapper facing much backlash has played a part in why Morehouse shut down the tournament.
A statement from Morehouse read: “Throughout its history, Morehouse College, perhaps more than any other institution, has stood for social discourse which advances equity and healing, particularly in areas involving race, culture, and socio-economic disparities. We therefore cannot condone, in perception or implication, the recent divisive and unproductive statements by Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.” Take a look above.
