Saturday Night Live cast member Chris Redd was knocked to the ground outside of the Comedy Cellar in New York on Wednesday (October 26) after he was punched in the face.

Footage of the incident was obtained by NBC News, which shows Chris being blindsided by a man who punched him, knocking the comedian off of his feet. Chris was seen writhing in pain after the incident, which happened as he got out of his car on his way to perform a stand-up set at the legendary venue.

Witnesses say the suspect was wearing a security guard uniform and brass knuckles. They added that he grabbed Chris' chain, which broke into pieces and was recovered at the scene. Police have yet to confirm that the incident was a chain snatching.
