According to reports, the grandmother of Nipsey Hussle—Margaret Boutte, has passed away.

Nipsey Hussle was very close with his grandmother, and she helped raise the late rapper and his brother Blacc Sam. Ahead of his death, Nipsey Hussle spoke about the major effect his grandmother had on his life. During a CBS2 interview, Nipsey said “I was raised by my mom and grandma. She was real big on keeping a tight family and big on love.”

Nipsey Hussle’s life was tragically ended in 2019 by a man named Eric Holder Jr, and Nip’s grandmother ultimately showed compassion for the person responsible for Nipsey’s death. While speaking to CBS, Boutte said “I’m praying for him too. I hope he does not get killed in custody. Have enough time to ask God for forgiveness.” She continued saying, “I’m Catholic, I do believe in prayer, and I’m praying for him. He was a young, ignorant situation, and I’m hoping he’s sorry for what he did.” Since then, Holder was found guilty of the murder of the rap star.

Condolences to the family of Nipsey Hussle.
