Video coming out of Kansas City shows an off-duty firefighter engaged in an altercation with a 23-year-old man and the younger man's girlfriend. The altercation ultimately ended with the fatal shooting of the off-duty firefighter at the hands of the woman whose actions have been ruled as self-defense.

According to reports, the altercation between the two began inside the Road Star gas station in Kansas City, MO. As the verbal spat turned physical, the woman can be seen pulling a gun from the 23-year-old man and repeatedly tells them to stop fighting. As the off-duty firefighter, Anthony “Tony” Santi, got the upper hand the woman continues to implore him to stop beating up her partner. She subsequently shot Santi who later succumbed to the gunshot wound.

“We grieve with the family and community over this tragic loss of life of Mr. Santi,” the prosecutor’s office said. “Missouri law governs this case, specifically self-defense and defense of others, leading us to decline charges after a careful review.”

While the woman didn't receive any charges, the 23-year-old man whose gun was used in the shooting, Ja’Von L. Taylor, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
